WEEK #9 - THE RETURN OF "POOPY" PANTS...

That's right ladies and gentlemen - "Poopy pants" returns to the Grand Ole Horseshoe - and things could get "sloppy" at some point on Saturday... On tap for this week (after a long two week slumber) is a fan favorite - it's "Eye-talian" week at the "Best Damn Tailgate In the Land"... All things Italian this week as the Bucks clash with "The Second Biggest" rival in Big Ten play... Items that I know will be in "The House" for Saturday are:

- 20 - 25 Eye-talian Sausage Sammies (a JP classic)
- Lots and Lots of "Meata Ball's" compliments of Jenny and Cathy... These meat balls are so good they will make you wanna slap yo Momma (that was in a movie I saw not too long ago... one of the Friday's I think)

Items we could use - ITALIAN THEMED DISHES... let's try and keep things tailgate friendly, but bring your "bestest" Italian dish for all to share in. Also - we haven't done Mimosa's in a while (and I think those are kind of Italian...) so - anyone want to offer up some OJ and Champagne???

Please submit your ideas and I will try and update the group as best I can. The weather appears to be good for this Saturday's 3:30 kick, so - looking forward to getting back after it for the "Second to Last Hooray" of the year. Let's make these last two weeks the best weeks of the year. And... There will be some birthday wishes going around this week! GO BUCKS!!!

Week #7 - Persevering Purdue...

It's time to get back on the horse after a terrible road trip (the game was the only terrible thing - great fans in Madison this past weekend). What better way to get after things than with a little bit of "Smoked Meats"??? The plan for now is Brisket / Ribs / and Shredded Pork. We will do some smokin at the spot and the rest will be done in advance. A few things we could use:

Buns
Sauces (we have a few already - but a few more, even home made sauces would be great).
Side dishes - shredded cheesy potatos go great with pork...
A desert or two
Beer for the community (Miller Lite or Bud Lite)

We owe these punks - so come early to get into the spirit. It's another nooner and the current weather outlook is pretty decent (High of 64, low of 48 - 20% chance of rain). See you all on campus!

Week #6 - "Whose Your Daddy"... Mexican Style!!!

After a "slight" scare last Saturday - the Buckeyes are back home where they belong. It's time to get healthy against a "lackluster" opponent. What better way to celebrate a "Big Ten Beat Down" than with some Mexican style fare... The plan for now is below:

MC and AP: Providing the Steak and Chicken for some "mean burrito's"...
JU (aka Godfather): Rocking the Margarita's like there's no tomorrow...
Items needed for consumption: Burrito shells (soft) - condiments for burrito's (cheese - tomato - lettuce - diced onion - sauces - sour cream - etc).
Other items: side dishes (those layer bar thingy's - a rice dish - guacamole in my shoe's (that's an old Cheech and Chong joke...) - and anything else you can buy at Chipotle - Taco Bell - or El Vaquero...

If you are unable to bring a dish - we can always use styrofoam plates - napkins - red cups - beer for the community cooler - and a bag or two of ice... Please add comments or email me direct (apatrick@stanleyus.com) and I will update the blog.

The weather looks impeccable (74, Sunny, Zero chance of rain...) for Saturday - so come early to enjoy the festivities... I'm bettin the corn hole boards - the LRC table - and maybe even the Karaoke machine will be "in play" for this Saturday... GO BUCKS!!!

Week #4 - "The Dead Presidents"...

No - no, I didn't mean anything by the title... Eastern Meechigan's mascot is - well, a President. And since these punks have lost 15 straight, it's pretty plain to see they will be "Dead" come this Saturday...

This week - it's the "Poor Boy's of EMU Sammie's"... Bologna is back - and it's better than ever... But - we also want to give Saturday a "stadium" type of feel... Kind of like you were in the "Grand Ole Horseshoe" - except, you can drink all you want and pee in the bushes... So - a few thoughts on things we could use:

Soft Pretzels with cheese
Nacho's with cheese and jalapeno's...
A big old bag of shelled peanuts (that I'm sure will be thrown at will at all passer byer's...)
Buns for the sammie's
A nice "theme drink" for the occassion
Jello??? That is always a "stadium fan favorite"...
And anything else you can think of that gives the day a "I'm in the stadium" type of feel...

The plan for Saturday: I plan to park the rig early - leave for a few extra hours of sleep - then arrive back around 9:00 or so. A few twists for the day: Karoke will be back (YEAH BABY...) and we plan to have a "Blind Draw" cornhole tourney. $5 a person and you will be choosing your partner off a blind draw (no teamin up Jimmy Conroy...)

See you all on campus bright and early Saturday - GO BUCKS!!!

Week #3 - "It's A Bloody Mary Bobcat Brunch..."

The Bucks are well on their way to a fantastic season (great win over the turnover prone Hurricanes...) Now comes the "lull" in the schedule. A few weeks of "lackluster" opponents could mean the games will be over by the half. But that won't stop the tailgate crew... It's the portion of the schedule where we need to "Get Better Every Week" - so what better way then by having Bloody Mary Saturday with 80-100 of your closest friends...

The theme for this week will be breakfast - Bloody Mary's - and maybe an afternoon "Hot Dog" or two (get it, that is where the brunch thing comes from - YAHTZEE!!!). Johnnie "O-Face O" and myself will be preparing a batch of "Mary's" that will tempt your taste buds. Mrs. "O Face O" plans to do some biscuits and gravy - and the "Old Cagy Vetern - JP" will be putting together a "Potato medley" and will have some sausage and bacon... Beyond that - we are looking for some other breakfast type of items. Donuts - eggs - more sausage - bagels - etc. We could also use some Hot Dogs and buns for the afternoon session.

Please post a comment on the blog site to let everyone know your intentions. We have been getting a lot of small donations in the form of cookies - desert type items - etc. These are needed - but we may be getting too many of these. If you don't have a food item and would like to contribute - please add some of the following (we can always use these types of items): Red plastic cups (NOT BLUE...) - styrofoam plates- plastic ware- napkins - paper towels - LARGE trash bags. And if worse comes to worse - bring some FROSTY COLD BEER'S FOR THE BIG WHITE TROUGH OF A COMMUNITY COOLER..

Thanks for all of the support - and thanks for making last week one of the best tailgates I can remember (although I don't remember a whole bunch of that day...)

GO BUCKS!!!

WEEK #2 - A Hurricane is Sweeping Through...

Ahhh - college football is back and all is good with the world. After a "sparkling" start to the season - the Buckeye's play host again this week - and the foe get's a little tougher... It's the re-match of the 02 Natl. Championship game (we're Soldier's dog - SOLDIER'S...) and this game will have National Title implications on the line.

For week #2 - the theme is once again "Pork Day"... Now I know what some of you may be thinking - but we plan to have a "Pork Extravaganza" on display - so you will not want to miss this one...

Items we could use:
Buns (we need a bunch of these - probably 100-120)
Sauces (hoping to get 3-4 sauces that we can use on each type of pork for different flavors)
Side Dishes (anything you can think of that goes well with pork)
Desert Dishes
Jello (always a fan favorite)

On the pork - Dan - Dan - the Wildman, Toby B. (in the place to be) and JP and myself plan to all smoke around 20 lbs. each (talking pork here - not wacky tabaccey...) We plan to ask for donations to the "Pork Fund" throughout the day - so please try to contribute. Also - bring your gamblin money - there will be LRC and we plan to do squares this week... Final thought - the weather looks perfect, so get on campus early to enjoy the finest atmosphere in sports. Saturday is going to be a "Magical" day...

GO BUCKS!!!

Phil Mickelson – a Duck Fan…

Post Game at the Sharks Cove – Manhattan Beach
